Since this weekend marks the unofficial start of summer with Memorial Day on Monday, I thought it would be the perfect time to share a swimwear collaboration I did with Swimspot! For the next week I will be sharing my favorite looks from the shoot I did last month in my hometown.
I don’t think I’ve ever worn a rash guard before but I was loving it! I felt like Sporty Spice and it provided the perfect amount of coverage. It would be great to throw on after soaking up the sun or while doing something active.
This coverup is everything I look for when picking out beachwear, brightly colored with a relaxed fit. I also love that through the crochet you get a little peak at the pink and orange striped bikini I was wearing. It’s definitely a must have if you’re like me and spend a lot of time at the beach and pool in the summer.
For a few months now, I’ve been begging Jeff to let me take his pictures for a men’s fashion post. He has always resisted. A few days ago he was feeling really confident in his “fashion risk” (his words not mine), of mismatched stripes and put the camera into my hands before striking a series of ANTM worthy poses. Although my camera work isn’t nearly as good as his and he didn’t give me the go-ahead to post these, I just had to share this outfit. He totally has his own style and his signature shoe are the Sperry’s (he has at least four different colors).
Let us know if you’d like to see men’s fashion. Jeff’s wardrobe is massive and it would give me a chance to practice my photog skills… or maybe pick some up?

Once the temps heat up I am always sucked back into the nautical trend. Although that traditionally means red, white and blue, I’ve partnered with the gorgeous Amy from Leopard and Lillies to bring you a new take on this fun trend.
Amy is an American living abroad in Dubai with her husband and cute dog… I always love seeing how chic she looks and living vicariously through her worldly travels. If you’re not familiar with her blog, make sure to check it out!
Can you believe I’m wearing this skort again?! Totally my spring/summer uniform this year and I’ll make no apologies for it. I paired it with this navy and white striped top and added a fun twist with this neon yellow sunflower necklace and bronze sandals. This makes me want to set sail but I settled for at least being boat-side.
The other day while getting ready I kept pulling blue pieces out of my closet, so I just went with it. Balanced out by this white tank I kinda loved my bluesy look. So much so that I made Jeff pull over to snap pics by this cool mural on the side of the road. Minus the fact that my outfit looked better in front of the purple Jimi Hendrix instead of the blue striped blues background. And this skort in blue? Yeah, I kinda had to buy it – don’t be surprised if I end up with the black version too.
I picked up this retro abstract shift dress at Forever 21 awhile back and kind of forgot about it. It was something I bought without trying on (like most things I buy from f21). When I finally put it on the dress swallowed me and did nothing to flatter my figure. It wasn’t until I pulled this studded bow belt out of my closet and put it on that I felt comfortable in the dress. I love the mod look of shift dresses but always have to wear them the same way (with a belt) so they don’t end up looking shapeless on me.
